a day19 photography show
December 8, 2007 - January 25, 2008
Receiver Gallery
1415 Valencia St
San Francisco, CA 94577
Info: http://receivergallery.com/shows/idoadore.php
Artists: Angela Boatwright, Abbey Drucker, Cheryl Dunn, Helena Kvarnstrom, Ye Rin Mok, Chrissy Piper, Zen Sekizawa, Emily Shur, Deanna Templeton, Claire Weiss, & Andrea Longacre-White
A few photos of photos:
Thoughts: A very nice assortment of photographs from an all-female, international group of photographers. The works of each individual manage to stand on their own, a difficult feat considering how easy it is at photo shows to observe one moment and forget the next. Installation works well, too - clean space, but the arrangement is also not so tight as to forget that this is a show in the Mission (not a bad thing, of course).

Fantastic artist and all-around-nicest-guy-in-the-world Paul Urich just sent me a link to Kari Byron's "Top 10 Modern Female Artists" list:
http://dsc.discovery.com/fansites/mythbusters/top-ten/artists/artists.html
I am absolutely amazed that my name is up there with the likes of Wangechi Mutu and Josephine Taylor.
Thank you thank you thank you, Kari!
